📖 Gastrosoph Glossary
These definitions belong to no tradition. They are personal axioms — operational language for the Great Work.
Gastrosoph
One who studies the wisdom (sophos) of the gut (gastro) — not as metaphor, but literally. The body is the primary instrument of knowledge. What the stomach rejects, the mind should examine.
Mecca of the Interior
The destination that cannot be reached by travel. The practice of treating one’s own internal state as a sacred site requiring pilgrimage, preparation, and respect.
Solve et Coagula
Dissolve and Coagulate. The core alchemical instruction: break down what is false, reassemble what remains into a more refined form. Applied daily, not once.
The Zone
The state of absorption in which self-consciousness ceases and output flows without friction. Related to Csikszentmihalyi’s “flow,” but distinct — The Zone in this Wiki has a specific aesthetic character: dark, cinematic, post-verbal. See Portal: The Zone.
Nigredo
The first alchemical phase. The blackening. The necessary destruction of existing form before new form is possible. Not depression — deliberate dissolution.
Albedo
The second phase. The whitening, the washing. Clarity that emerges after the fire of Nigredo has consumed the impurities. See 02 · Albedo.
Rubedo
The third phase. The reddening — the return of color (life, will, creative force) after the purification of Albedo. The Gold made manifest. See 03 · Rubedo.
The Reset
A deliberate 72-hour period of Nigredo: fasting, shedding, and isolation designed to dissolve calcified habits and restore sensitivity to signal.
Prima Materia
The raw, undifferentiated substance that alchemy transforms. In personal terms: your current state, before work, before discipline, before the operation begins. Not to be scorned — it is the only material available.
Kaizen (改善)
Japanese: continuous improvement. Not dramatic transformation — the 1% daily refinement that compounds. The Gastrosoph’s relationship to Kaizen is geometrical: small consistent inputs produce φ-scaled outputs over time.
Power Object
An artifact that has been charged with deliberate intention through the process of its making. Distinct from a decorative object or a tool — a Power Object encodes both the physical process of its creation and the state of the maker at the time. See Gold Wire Alchemy, The Eagle’s Gift.
